Matt Verges (aka Scumbugg) is an illustrator, graphic designer, and printer that has been working in the underground punk and metal music scene for over a decade. In recent years, his clients have included international bands, record labels, and clothing labels, including Fright Rags, Earache Records, Gama Bomb, Double or Nothing Records, DeKay Clothing, The Desecrators, Salvador, Impaled, The Getaway Plan, Oceano, Real Deal, Serial Killer Calendar, and many more.
Taking inspiration from life, death, and the world in between, his artworks find a balance between the natural and surreal. With a dreamy quality equal parts Mucha and Pushead, he creates a world where the stereotypical skulls and gore of Metal album covers become strangely beautiful.
He currently lives with his friends and his cat, above a 30 year old union printshop in Denver, Colorado.
